At 0152 Saturday morning, Engine 51 was dispatched mutual aid to the 9-9 box for a reported car fire. Engine 51 marked up quickly with 6 personnel. While en route, 51 was advised that the vehicle was reported as being occupied and a rescue box assignment was started, adding Squad 5 to the call.
Medic Engine 9-4 arrived on scene to find a single vehicle, completely involved. Engine 51 arrived on scene soon after and assisted ME 9-4's crew with extinguishing the fire utilizing a 1 1/2 inch attack line and a C02 extinguisher. 51's crew also searched the surrounding woods with handlights and a thermal imaging camera in an attempt to locate a patient. None was found. The box was held with ME 9-4 and Engine 51.
