On the morning of February 17, 2010, DCFD Engine 30 and Truck 17 were sent to 5213 East Capitol Street, in SouthEast Washington D.C. for the house fire with people trapped.  Firefighter Toby Sealey (Chief 5) was caught in a flashover while searching the basement for the trapped occupant.  He received 2nd Degree burns to his ears, shoulders, arms, and wrists, and was admitted to MedStar Hospital.  Sealey has been released today , and is at home resting.  Many thanks to the DCFD Burn Foundation, family, friends, and the many neighboring departments for their help and support.
