My Mom in her 90s had a tree hit her house in Dunkirk on Mar 14, 2023 from high winds. She was upset and I called the Firehouse. A quite polite Firefighter named Ethan Johnson answered and couldn't have been nicer. He went to check the place out and made sure Mom was ok. It meant a lot to Mom that despite the damage, she was reassured the house was structurally intact. It wasn't just the act of going out to assess the situation, it was how Firefighter Johnson seemed to genuinely care. These guys put their necks on the line for others and it's sometimes the little things that are just as important. Co 5 deserves the recognition for their high standards and Firefighter Johnson exemplifies the kind of "character" the citizens of Dunkirk are fortunate to have serving our community.

I am so appreciative of the prompt and professional care given to us when we called for an ambulance last friday evening May 13 for my granddaughter who fell on her back when the swing broke. We were very worried she had done serious damage because she was so distraught. The team took such good care of her and reassured us as much as they could. Thankfully she is okay. I am making a donation but there is no where to make comments so I wanted to make them here. Thank you again, you are much appreciated.
I think you all do a very good job for the community. Keep up the good work. I think they should reward the Dunkirk fire department for doing a very good job.

I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you. I know that you folks work hard and often that works goes unappreciated. This past summer you provided and invaluable service to me and my family, when my sister-in-law was in car accident. While the outcome was not what anyone would have hoped, I am forever in your debt because you were there when the call came. You did what you train so hard to do. You did what I, and many others, so often take for granted. For that I thank you.
