By Deputy Chief Jonathan Riffe
July 27, 2019

Two days ago, 5 firefighters (2 from Anne Anne Arundel County & 3 from Dunkirk VFD) were injured battling a house fire. Two Dunkirk VFD firefighters were released from the hospital that night. However, the Officer in Charge of Squad 5 (Nathan Taylor) has remain hospitalized since then.

This afternoon, he was released from Anne Arundel Medical Center to return home. To his surprise, Squad 5 picked him up and brought him back to Calvert County.

The Dunkirk VFD would like to sincerely thank the firefighters and medics that treated the injured responders, the doctors at Anne Arundel Medical Center and everyone that had contacted the department to offer assistance.
